The President Visits Shrine of Sufi Saint, Sayyid Mir Hamadani in Tajikistan
The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil visited the Shrine of the Sufi Saint, Sayyid Mir Ali Muhammad Hamadani in Kulyab in Tajikistan on September 8, 2009. The Saint visited the region of Kashmir in the State of Jammu and Kashmir some 6 Centuries ago, and is an abiding link between India and Tajikistan. The President prayed for peace and harmony in the world and said that the Saint's philosophy of brotherood, harmony and respect for humanity is very relevant in today's world.
