RASHTRAPATI NILAYAM TO BE OPENED FOR PUBLIC VIEWING

29-12-2010 : Camp: Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bollaram, Hyderabad

Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bollaram will be opened for public viewing for the first time from January 1, 2011 to January 10, 2011. The entry is free. The timing of the visit is between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs and the visitors at the entry point will be allowed entry upto 16.00 hrs. The entry into the premises of the Rashtrapati Nilayam will be through the reception at Gate No.2. The visitors may contact, Shri P.B. Narayana Murthy, Junior Engineer, CPWD, Rahstrapati Nilayam, at Telephone No. 040-27862513 for further details.

The visitors are requested not to bring any water bottles, briefcases, handbags, radios/transistors, arms/ammunitions and eatables. Such articles, if any, will not be allowed to be carried into the premises and will have to be deposited at the entry point at the owner's risk.

The President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, as a part of her environment friendly initiatives, has recently inaugurated a Herbal Garden in the premises of Rashtrapati Nilayam. The Herbal Garden has 116 species of medicinal and aromatic plants and is intended to bring in awareness about our rich heritage and diversity and also about medicinal values of various plants that grow widely in our surroundings and are useful for home remedial cure for a variety of diseases. The premises have a number of environment friendly systems in place such as solar lights, drip irrigation system, percolation pond etc. for efficient and judicious use of natural resources and fruit gardens have also been developed on an area of about 35 acres of land.

The opening up of Rashtrapati Nilayam premises for general public is President Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil's one of the people friendly initiatives. Earlier, a 'Nature Trail' in the premises of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, has also been opened for public entry.
