RECORD NUMBER OF PEOPLE VISIT UDYANOTSAV AT RASHTRAPATI BHAVAN AND GARDEN AT RASHTRAPATI NILAYAM WINS FIRST PRIZE ONCE AGAIN

A record number of persons visited the Udyanotsav at Rashtrapati Bhavan this year, held from February 10, 2012 to March 15, 2012. A total of 6,57,119 persons visited the Mughal Gardens during this period. The highest number of visitors on a single day was recorded on February 19, 2012 when 82,806 persons visited.

While the Udyanotsav proved to be immensely popular in New Delhi, the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum, Secunderabad, this year won the first prize and trophy for the Best Garden maintained by a Central Government Institution for the 4th consecutive year. The competition was organized by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Andhra Pradesh in January 2012. The trophy was awarded by the Minister of Horticulture, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Sheri Ram Reddy Veneto Reddy. The gardens of Rashtrapati Nilayam were also opened to the public for the 1st time in 2011.
