Six envoys presented their credentials to the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan here today.
The envoys who presented their credentials were: - His Excellency, Mr. Andrianarison Sahobisoa Chille Olivier, the Ambassador of Madagascar, His Excellency, Mr. Saidov Saidbeg, the Ambassador of Tajikistan, His Excellency, Mr. Cesar Ferrer, the Ambassador of Uruguary, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Sultan Abdalla Al Owais, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency, Mr. Rim Hoe Song, the Ambassador of The Democratic People's Republic of Korea and His Excellency, Mr. Boris Velic, the Ambassador of Croatia.
While re-affirming the commitment of India for building strong bilateral relations and wishing the Envoys successful tenures, the President emphasized the importance of the international community to work together to address the challenges confronting the world. She described terrorism as a threat to world peace and stated that the attacks in Mumbai indicated that terrorists were continuing to find sanctuary, where they receive training and support. The President said that the need of the hour is for all countries to send a strong signal to terrorists that they will not find support from any quarter.
The credential presentation ceremony was attended by the senior members of the missions, senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
