Three envoys presented their credentials to the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan here today.
The envoys who presented their credentials were: - His Excellency, Dr. Salikh Inagamov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, His Excellency, Mr. Borislav Kostov, the Ambassador of Bulgaria, and His Excellency, Maj. General Vetsop Namgyel, the Ambassador of Bhutan.
The President stated that in a globalized and integrated world, many challenges have a global dimension whether it is terrorism or global slowdown or energy security. She added that the global leadership needs to find viable responses by working together constructively. Stating that terrorism was a grave threat to world stability, the President emphasized that international efforts should be directed at dealing firmly with this menace. The President recalled the excellent relations India enjoys with all three countries and called for the further strengthening of bilateral ties for mutual benefit.
The credential presentation ceremony was attended by the senior members of the missions, senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
