PAINTING COMPETITION TO BE HELD TOMORROW FOR RESIDENTS OF PRESIDENT'S ESTATE

07-05-2010 : Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi

A Painting Competition in three age groups, 6-12 years, 12-18 years and 18 years and above is being held for the residents of President's Estate on May 8, 2010.

The Competition will require the participants to paint a picture on the theme, "An Ecofriendly President's Estate - as I see it". The Painting Competition is part of the Rashtrapati Bhavan's 'Roshini Project', an initiative taken on the directions of President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, to make the President's Estate a green, energy efficient and zero waste model township.

To achieve this, the programmes that form the project are; Waste Management, Environment Protection and Pollution Control, Energy Conservation, Awareness Generation and Institutionalization of the Programme. The Painting Competition is part of the Awareness Generation Programme.
