The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the passing away of the veteran freedom fighter, Smt. Laxmi Panda in New Delhi today.
Smt. Panda was a member of Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army (INA), which fought against the British during the Second World War. She was enlisted in the Rani Jhansi Regiment.
The President had recently helped her in getting the Swatantrata Sainik Samman Pension from the Government.
