The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, met a large number of people from a cross-section of society at Rashtrapati Bhavan today and exchanged greetings on the occasion of Idu'l Fitr. Those who visited Rashtrapati Bhavan on this occasion included children and senior citizens.
The President said, "this festival brings joy and happiness to all and especially to those who have observed fasting during the Holy month of Ramzan.
This year's festival should inspire all of us to strengthen the principles of tolerance, friendship and mutual goodwill among our people and everyone should share their joy with the needy."
