The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the passing away of the veteran Communist leader Shri Harkishan Singh Surjeet.
In her condolence message, the President has said Shri Surjeet was a veteran Marxist leader, parliamentarian and an eminent statesman and freedom fighter who had a multifaceted personality and who served the nation with distinction. In his passing away the nation has lost a veteran public figure, Smt. Patil said.
